In 1954, 56 years ago, Roger Allaire and his wife Beatrice Beaudoin purchased the land where the marina is today from his father in-law Arthur to raise their 3 children Monique, Lise and Ted.  They started a small bait shop. Live worms and minnows; in what is now the family living room. "Roger's Live Bait" continued to grow. Eventually a shop was built at the base of the first canal. Later docks were put in place which is when it became known as "Roger's Marina".
October 15th, 1974, Roger’s Marina saw a change of hands when daughter Lise and husband René Struthers took over the reins. They had challenges to face and a vision to guide them. Second Generation Lise and Rene with baby Mark and Yves on the way started on their quest by expanding the docks, enlarging the store to the front of the bay, added a mechanics shop, and boat houses.
Lise worked in the store, took care of the clients and the book keeping. When the boys got older Rene put them to work and taught them the business hoping that one, would one day continue in his footsteps.  In 1980 they had their 3rd child Adele. For 36 years they built up the Marina to what it is now known as today.
After 36 years in the Marina business, René & Lise have succeeded their goals and expectations and are ready to move on to retirement.
At season closing of this year (2010) Roger’s Marina will once again see a change of hands.  Boaters will say their final farewells to Lise & Rene as they store their boats for the winter and will be greeted next spring by new owners, Yves Struthers and wife Nancy along with their two boys (and possible fourth generation operators) Nicholas and Andre.
Yves, Nancy and family have always enjoyed the boater’s life and marine business.  Yves presently owns and operates Nautical Heritage – fiberglass repair and detailing.  Nancy presently owns and operates Canvas Complete – custom boat canvas fabrication and repair.  Nicholas and Andre can be seen frequently boating, swimming and fishing around the marina.  Going forward the family will be honored to continue to serve you in the spring and future, and bring new facilities, upgrades and ideas to Roger’s Marina.
